For this cosplay, I wanted to bring the Bone Armor from Monster Hunter: World to life, because I have always loved the wild fantasy feeling of the game. As a big Monster Hunter fan, this armor immediately stood out to me. The mix of bones, fur, leather-like details and weapons has such a strong hunter aesthetic, and I really wanted to create something that looked fierce, handmade and adventurous.
Since this is not a costume where you can easily buy many finished pieces, almost everything had to be made by hand. I built most of the armor parts myself, including the bone details, the fur elements, the accessories and the two small swords. I wanted the whole costume to feel like it could actually belong in the world of Monster Hunter, so the textures and the worn, natural look were very important to me.
The most difficult part was definitely the headpiece. Getting the shape right, making it comfortable enough to wear and still keeping that strong bone-armor look was a real challenge. I spent around a month working on the whole costume, adjusting piece after piece until everything finally came together.
The shooting was also a very special part of this cosplay. I had the chance to work with a professional photographer, and the outdoor setting helped a lot in creating the right atmosphere. The natural light, the scenery and the armor all worked together to give the photos that wild hunter feeling I wanted.
This costume was a lot of work, but it is also one of the projects that really shows why I love fantasy cosplay so much.
