For this cosplay, I wanted to create a Sister Repentia from Warhammer 40,000, because I have always been a big fan of the Warhammer universe and its miniatures. The Sisters of Battle have such a strong and dramatic design, and the idea behind the Sisters Repentia immediately caught my attention. They are intense, devoted and brutal in a way that fits the dark atmosphere of Warhammer perfectly.
This costume was completely handmade, since the whole look depends so much on specific details and proportions. I worked on every part of the outfit myself, from the clothing pieces and accessories to the darker, battle-worn elements that make the character recognizable. I wanted the cosplay to feel rough, dramatic and a little chaotic, while still keeping the iconic Sisters Repentia feeling.
The most important and also most difficult part was definitely the chainsword. Building a Warhammer weapon is always a challenge because it has to look oversized and powerful, but still be light enough to handle and pose with. I spent a lot of time shaping, painting and adjusting it until it felt right for the costume.
The whole project took around two weeks of work, which made it a very intense build from start to finish. I did not wear this one to a convention or shoot it at a special location yet, but even taking photos at home was fun because the costume already has such a strong presence.
I really enjoyed working on this cosplay, especially because it combines everything I like about Warhammer: bold designs, dark fantasy, and characters that look ready for battle.
